Policy
MARC Purpose:
 |
To provide a place where developmental math can be discussed and investigated so that learning may be achieved. |
 |
To provide assistance through various means such as personal tutoring, computer tutorials, video instruction,
and manipulatives. |
Authorized Use of the MARC:
 |
Students currently enrolled in Math 50,51,51A,51B,59,61,71,71A,
or 71B are the only ones allowed to use the MARC. |
 |
Eligible students must complete a white registration card
every semester. |
 |
Students must be clocked in/out by a staff person using their
MtSAC ID or a paper MARC ID. |
 |
Students are to work only on activities related to their math class while in the MARC. |
 |
Students may leave the MARC for a reasonable amount of short
breaks, for extended breaks student must clock out. |
Privacy:
 |
MARC staff reserves the right to view your assignments and
will do so periodically. |
MARC Rules:
 |
The MARC is a non-credit class, so students must conduct themselves accordingly. |
 |
Water is the only drink allowed in the MARC. No water on or near the computer tables. |
 |
Food is to remain in backpacks. Eating is not allowed in the MARC. |
 |
Students are to keep their feet off the furniture. |
 |
Cell phones and pagers must be turned to low or on vibrate and
must be used outside the MARC. Text messaging, gaming, etc are not
allowed. |
 |
Computer stations are to be used for math related activities
only, including e-mail. |
 |
Programs from the internet are not to be downloaded unless permission from the MARC supervisor has been granted. |
 |
Students will not be assisted with quizzes or take-home exams without written permission from his/her instructor. |
 |
Students' unauthorized use of the MARC computer systems, equipment, or facility will result in disciplinary action in accordance with Student Disciplinary Policy (A.R.& P. 609) and the California Education and Penal Code. |
 |
Students will comply with all supervisor and tutor directions. Students are expected to observe the Code of Conduct regarding campus distrubances as set forth in the College Catalog: "In accordance with the Education Code and the Penal Code, the willful disturbances of classes, College activities, or procedures is a misdemeanor." |
