Tour
Welcome to the MARC. In order to register for the MARC you must currently
be enrolled in one of the following courses: Math 50, 51, 51A, 51B, 59,
61, 71, 71A or 71B. The following virtual tour will guide you through
the basic steps of registering and the types of activities that are available.
Mt. SAC's MARC is located in building 40, rooms 113 and 115, at extension 5014. For a specific location on campus, you might want to take a look at the campus map.
Before you can use the MARC you must fill out a white registration card.
A new card is needed every semester. A supervisor at the front counter
can assist you with this. On subsequent visits, you will give a picture
ID to the computer attendant and tell them the course you are taking so
that you can be clocked into the MARC. You will be given a numbered card
that you will return when you leave so that you may be clocked out of
the MARC.
One
of the services offered in the MARC is FREE tutoring for your math class.
Students raise their hands when they want to ask a tutor for assistance.
Some math instructors are holding office hours in the MARC, and are available
to answer your questions
The
MARC also has videotapes, manipulatives and tutorial software to assist
you in learning. Calculators and the videotapes that accompany the textbooks
are available for checkout.
A room is available in the MARC for study groups, where a
tutor and four or more students can intensely concentrate on a particular
area of need.
